The Firebird always recommends having your gas stove professionally installed. Any installation with a gas appliance requires a mechanical permit to be pulled for the work to be inspected. This provides peace of mind to the homeowner and holds the installer accountable. 

Gas Stove Installation

• Adding a gas stove to a house must be undertaken properly to ensure a safe installation.
• Install a stove with adequate clearance from any combustible surfaces, including floors, walls or furniture.
• Any chimney must have adequate capacity, the correct height, proper location, proper clearance from combustibles and proper mechanical support to be safe.
• When an efficient airtight stove is selected and installed with a proper chimney, the efficiency and safety of the stove operation is 100% effective
• A Gas Stove requires yearly maintenance; inspecting window gaskets, verifying there are no carbon deposits on the thermocouple and general gas leak tests. It is also highly recommended to clean the glass on the gas stove at least twice a year. You cannot use any cleaning agents that are ammonia based. Ammonia will pit & slowly wear the specialized ceramic glass.

Our installation team is GB-98 licensed, MM-1, MM-2 and MM-3. In the event of any electrical work needing to be done, we will utilize an individual with an EE98 and EE98J license. We are also factory certified by our manufacturers to install their products.
